What shoots through the air at 7 times the speed of sound? It’s the Navy’s newest super gun, a long range weapon that uses electromagnetic “Star Wars” technology. It launches projectiles that use speed, not explosives to do damage. Firing at 7 times the speed of sound, it can punch through 3 walls of reinforced concrete and costs a fraction of the price of a conventional Navy missile. But that still doesn’t mean its cheap.
